Let's Get This Party Started!

Happy New Year Reader!

Don't you just love a fresh new year. It's like a blank slate of possibility. You have no idea what the year will bring but you start out with all the best intentions, goals, and dreams.

So, what are you going to do with your blank slate? I know a lot of people don't believe in new years resolutions but in the end we all have a little piece of us that hopes this new year will bring good things for ourselves and the folks we know.

Well, over the years I've gone back and forth with resolutions. Some years I've set a bunch and some years I haven't set any, I just hoped for the best. But this year, I'm doing things a little bit different. I'm not setting a resolution per se. I'm setting an intention, a philosophy if you will.

Here's my 2026 New Year's Philosophy:

If it doesn’t positively impact my mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, or financial health, the answer is NO.

What I found is that I'm very good at doing things, eating things, watching and listening to things, going places, hanging out with people who were detrimental to my mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, and/or financial health. And this often left me tired, angry, sick, sad, and broke.

I'm a business owner now. I have clients, vendors, partners, and an audience (albeit small) who depend on me to show up for them each day and support them as they start and run their businesses. It's my responsibility to ensure that I, Jessica Marie Davis, show up as my full, authentic self. And I can't do that if I'm allowing harmful things to steal my attention.

So, in 2026 I will be saying NO to things that do not positively impact me and YES to things that do positively impact me.

I have a lot planned for this year and I'm so excited to bring you along on this journey!

If you didn't see the email yet, registration is open for the January webinar. I invite you to register and share the link with your community or anyone you know who wants to start a business.

Here's to a productive first full week of 2026! 🎉

Warm Regards,

Hi Reader, Happy Monday! I survived yet another weekend of winter weather in North Carolina. This weekend's weather wasn't nearly as bad as they said it would be. Last weekend did get pretty icy, but this weekend we were supposed to get 3 - 6 inches of snow. We didn't. There's probably a dusting out there. But I'm not complaining. I am grateful that we aren't snowed it. Anyway, I spent the week and weekend making some tweaks to the Business Launch Formula, my new program. I soft launched it a...

Ice formed on a tree branch with berries

Hey Reader, Today is actually Thursday. I usually write these newsletters on Friday, but I wanted to get as much done before the ice storm that was set to hit North Carolina this weekend including editing videos, responding to emails, preparing for podcast interviews (that may not happen if I don't have power), shopping for emergency supplies, filling up the car, and checking that I still had those flashlights I bought 5 years ago during the last winter storm. The goal was to be prepared. The...

A picture of spilled milk

Hey Reader, We're only three full weeks into the year and I've already learned a very valuable lesson. It's actually a lesson I've heard many times before, but never fully understood until now. Don't cry over spilled milk. Last Wednesday I hosted my second webinar and while I was nervous in the beginning, I felt really good about it. Everything was prepared and I was all setup and ready to go a full 30 minutes before the start of the webinar. Now, when I hosted my first webinar back in...
